West Virginia Mandates

The state of West Virginia requires that wineries who ship Direct to Consumer must email  their customers a link to a Fetal Alcohol Syndrome warning, as well as a link to a Blood Alcohol chart each time they purchase wine via phone, web or wine club shipment. This is not a new regulation, however the state has recently reinforced the rule.

The email must state the following:

“As required by West Virginia law, customers may access important information about the effects of alcohol from these links to the West Virginia Alcoholic Beverage Control Commission:

Fetal Alcohol Syndrome
http://www.abca.wv.gov/SiteCollectionDocuments/fetalalcoholchart.pdf

Blood Alcohol
http://www.abca.wv.gov/enforcement/Documents/BAC%20Chart.pdf “

Alternately you may also print out the statements and include them in your wine shipment(s) to West Virginia consumers.
