Update: Arizona Sales Tax Return
August 2, 2017
By Kristin Carlton, Vice President of Compliance
Effective immediately, the Arizona Transaction Privilege Tax Return (Sales) must be paid online via electronic funds transfer (EFT) if tax liability exceeds $20,000 for the prior calendar year. This liability threshold amount has decreased from the current $1 million.
If your tax liability exceeds $20,000 and you fail to make payments by EFT, you will be subject to a 5% penalty. Those with a tax liability that is less than $20,000 for the prior calendar year are not required to pay via EFT.
If taxpayers have any questions about the revised EFT threshold should contact the Department of Revenue at www.azdor.gov.
